Ophthalmology Services

Vet Vision Center was created with the goal of providing exceptional eye care for pets while offering an elevated and enjoyable visit for pet parents. By focusing solely on ophthalmology, Vet Vision Center promotes the best possible patient and client experience.

We offer extensive medical and surgical ophthalmology services in our fully renovated hospital, outfitted with incredible ophthalmic examination rooms and state-of-the-art operating suites. Combined with modern in-house technology and a highly skilled team, Vet Vision Center strives to provide unrivaled eye care for your pet.

Eye Exams & Tests

Comprehensive eye exams use specialized examination equipment that goes beyond a primary care visit, allowing a closer look at every structure of the eye. Vet Vision Center has highly-trained doctors who can identify rare and more challenging conditions, which is why tear production, intraocular pressure, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, and retinal evaluation are part of every consultation.

Ophthalmic Surgery

If your pet’s eye condition requires surgery, you can count on the VVC. Our doctors perform ophthalmic procedures in our brand-new surgical suites, equipped with a ZEISS operating microscope, Bausch & Lomb Stellaris cataract unit, Iridex laser, and advanced anesthesia capabilities.

Equine Ophthalmology

Horses require specialized ophthalmic care, and a care team comfortable with both the species and its conditions. Dr. Adelman offers equine ophthalmology services for horse owners and referring equine veterinarians throughout the region, addressing common and complex cases including equine recurrent uveitis (ERU), corneal ulcers and abscesses, eyelid lacerations, and cataract evaluation.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery restores vision when the lens has clouded. Our doctors offer phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implant as the gold-standard option, with intracapsular lens extraction and lens couching available for cases where phacoemulsification isn’t suitable.

Glaucoma Surgery

Glaucoma is one of the most painful and time-sensitive eye conditions a pet can face. When medications can no longer control eye pressure, our doctors offer a range of surgical options, from vision-preserving procedures like Ahmed gonioimplants to comfort-restoring procedures for blind eyes such as ciliary body ablation, intrascleral prosthesis, and enucleation.

Advanced Diagnostics

When a routine exam isn’t enough, advanced testing helps confirm the diagnosis and guide treatment. We offer ocular ultrasonography, electroretinography (ERG), chromatic pupillometry (cPLR), and corneal and conjunctival cytology, all performed in our newly built hospital.

Laboratory & Pharmacy

Our in-house lab handles routine diagnostic tests during your pet’s visit, with results often available the same day. Our on-site pharmacy stocks the eye medications and oral prescriptions your pet needs, allowing immediate treatment without a trip to an outside pharmacy.

OFA/CAER Eye Certifications

As a board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Reinstein has been specially trained to provide screening eye exams for registration through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). These eye exams provide breeders with valuable information regarding eye diseases in their breed, so that they can make informed breeding decisions and produce healthier lines of dogs. For more information, visit the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals Companion Animal Eye Registry page.

Outpatient Ultrasound

When an eye condition signals a deeper issue, like cancer, hypertension, or an internal disease, we are able to provide outpatient ultrasound and echocardiography on-site through Dr. Johanna Frank, DVM, DVSc, DACVIM, a board-certified internist who visits Vet Vision Center for scheduled cases. We coordinate the scheduling, so you don’t need a separate trip.

Let’s take care of your pet’s vision — together.
